Hannat Foundation Ghana, an esteemed NGO funded by Mr. Ibrahim Asante Boadu with its office at Pramso in the Bosomtwe district in Ashanti region of Ghana, on 5th December 2024 made a significant donation to the pupils of Asokwa Islamic Junior High School. The foundation organized an educational workshop aimed at empowering the students on crucial topics.
Ms. Aisha Asantewaa Boadu, the country director of the foundation, after giving a brief history of the organization, led a session on Menstrual Hygiene . Her insightful presentation highlighted the importance of proper menstrual hygiene practices, addressing common myths and promoting healthy habits among the students. The session aimed to break the stigma surrounding menstruation and educate students on how to manage their menstrual health effectively.
Additionally, Mr. Wahab Acquah, a field officer of the foundation, did a presentation on Sexual Harassment. Through interactive discussions and informative sessions, he raised awareness about the importance of recognizing and preventing sexual harassment. The workshop emphasized the rights of individuals and provided practical strategies to address and report instances of harassment.
Participants were enlightened on the meaning, causes, and acts that connote sexual harassment. The pupils, through the discussions were empowered to be bold to report incidents of sexual harassment for perpetrator to be dealt with appropriately.
Sanitary pads, books and other educational materials were distributed to participants to motivate them stay in school and concentrate on their studies.
In her address, the girl child coordinator of the school, Madam Juliana Tetteh urged the pupils to put into practice what they have learned from the resource persons and also expressed her appreciation to the foundation for timely choosing the school for such an educative program.
Overall, the donation and workshop organized by Hannat Foundation Ghana at Asokwa Islamic JHS not only provided valuable knowledge but also empowered the pupils with essential life skills. The foundation's commitment to education and welfare initiatives shines through in its efforts to create a safe and informed environment for the students.
