Hannat Foundation Ghana, on Monday 20th November 2023 celebrated the World Children's day with the children of Abumposo under the theme, FOR EVERY CHILD, EVERY RIGHT. The Foundation donated learning materials to pupils and teachers at Abumposo D/A Primary School, a deprived community in the Adansi North District in the Ashanti region of Ghana.
Abumposo, a farming community, is about 40 minutes’ drive from Obuasi. It is a community that lacks almost all social amenities that make life comfortable.
The Foundation Donated learning materials such as exercise books, school bags, pens, pencils, erasers, cardboards, Bluetooth speaker among others to the learners.
The country director of the Foundation, Ms Aisha Asantewaa Boadu emphasized that the foundation aims empowering all persons especially women and children in deprived communities and it is that vision that had motivated them to move to Abumposo to do such donations. She told the learners that the only thing that could bring them at par with other children in the cities is education. Explaining the theme for the celebration, Ms Aisha enlightened the young learners aged between 3 and 13 years, on their rights emphasizing on their rights to food, shelter, education and a decent life the enhances human dignity. She encouraged them to take their studies serious and be regular and punctual to school.
The school was represented by the headmistress, Ms. Ivertha Fremah Amankwa, the School Improvement Support Officer for the circuit, Mr. Yakubu Tijani, the PTA chairman and a member of the School Management Committee, five teachers and
70 pupils who were the ultimate beneficiaries of varied learning materials that will enhance their Academic work.
In her address, the headmistress of the school expressed appreciation and stressed how the donation by Hannat Foundation is going to enhance teaching and learning. She said that the donation has come at an opportune time because most of the pupils lacked materials for learning. She called on other donor organizations to come to the aid of the school to provide befitting classroom for the school.
The PTA chairman of the school thanked HANNAT FOUNDATION for remembering their community on such an important day like WORLD CHILDREN'S DAY. He invoked God's blessings on the foundation and its staff, and expressed the hope that it is not going to be the last time the foundation would come to their aid.
In attendance were the administrative secretary, Ms Millicent Arthur and other field officers from the foundation.
